About Us
Thank you for your interest in Tecdur products. The products
were designed and developed in Northern Ireland and we were winners
of a SMART award for innovative development. The designs can
be varied to optimise the protection against manual attack, ballistic
or blast protection. In simple terms, ballistic protection requires
a certain thickness, blast protection requires flexibility and
a good form of attachment, and manual attack resistance often
requires the incorporation of a polycarbonate layer. It is not
possible to give you a clear idea of what the make up will be
without understanding the threat you need to defeat, the size
of glass required and of course the supporting frames and walls.
We have however tested glass to defeat various ballistic threats
including 0.5inch rounds as used with the Barratt Sniper rifle.
We have also tested glass at levels of blast, which will defeat
brick and concrete block walls.
Our glass is lighter, clearer to look through and can be used
in ways that are not possible with conventional laminated glass.
It is also suitable for applications where pvb laminated glass,
and the risk (albeit small) of catastrophic failure, is not acceptable.
We would welcome the chance to meet you, show you some samples
and explain in person what we could do for you. I would also
recommend that any solutions that we propose are tested with
realistic live trials. We have access to private testing facilities
for both blast and ballistic tests.
